HUNTING

While I have visited a number of quail hunting locations around the south I must admit my experience at Quail Country Plantation was beyond my expectations. I had the opportunity to visit your operation with Joe Dana and his sons last year. Every phase of your hunt was top drawer. The guides were just outstanding and the dogs found birds from the minute they hit the ground until we had to mount up and head back to the barn. The food and professional treatment at the lodge were equally pleasing and clearly were a testament to the overall environment I sensed at Quail Country Plantation—customer satisfaction is your key goal!  I thoroughly  enjoyed the entire weekend and have recommended, and will continue to do so, Quail Country Plantation as a great place to relax and enjoy one of the finest venues for quail hunting in the south.

Regards,

Ron Rooks

We think the world of all of everyone at Quail Country. We’ve hunted with them since 2008 and hope to be there for years to come. Every time we’ve had a good experience and we tell everyone we think might be interested about Quail Country. It is the best experience we’ve had of the lodges where we’ve hunted.”

Dear Friends,

Please let me thank you each and every one for allowing us to hunt for a day at your wonderful lodge during the Quail Unlimited Celebrity weekend. I can’t remember a time when I’ve had more fun, and it was all because of you kind people.

Michael Martinez was overwhelmed and would not stop talking about what an “awesome” time he had there. He loved it. What an absolutely perfect introduction to Southern Hospitality at it’s finest! Now, I must thank some of you individually, so here goes:

Doc, you were gracious in every way, as always, but took the time to meet and greet myself, and Mike as old friends, which put Mike at ease instantly. Such grace is the reason you are so highly regarded in your community.

Last, but in no way least, my deepest thank you to the Supremes. You took the time to stop what you were doing and talk to Mike and me, making sure he had some sweet tea and anything else he wanted. On the way to the airport he said that you ladies showed him what deep South hospitality was about.

During the planning for Mike to come to Albany, we learned he needed yet another surgery on what’s left of his right leg. Mike postponed this surgery until after this weekend, so that he didn’t have to miss the trip. He will be out of action for a long time after this one, and unfortunately this 16th surgery in less than ten months will delay his rehabilitation for at least a year. But you all did it! You gave him a weekend to remember until he’s able to get back in the swing of things again.

Thank you doesn’t seem enough. I’m proud to know you all.

Dr. Brooks,

Thank you for the wonderful quail hunting experience I had this past weekend at Quail Country. You were very generous to allow me to join Dr. Taylor’s group. The good and accommodations were excellent, and my only regret is that I couldn’t stay and hunt again Saturday morning. Thank you also for the quail you sent home with me. I plan to enjoy them this weekend. Quail Country is obviously a special place to you and your family, and you are kind to share it with others.

Thank you again for your hospitality,

Thank you for your kind hospitality during my recent visit to QC! Thanks especially for the prime rib on Monday evening. What a treat! Best wishes in all you do.

We would like to thank you for the gracious hospitality we were afforded on our hunt. Your accommodations were first class and the staff was very attentive to our every need and provided the down home southern hospitality we were all looking for.

Your support of the 2010 NCC was greatly appreciated. The gun team was not going to miss this trip for the world so needless to say we made the high bid in the auction and we were off to Arlington, GA. We have shot over the finest English Cocker and Springer Spaniels in the United States and Canada for over 25 years. We want to let you know in our opinion the dogs at Quail Country are second to none. The combination of well-trained pointing and flushing dogs was enjoyable for dog enthusiasts, trainer/handlers and wing shooters like us.

Your introduction of English Cockers and your breeding program has produced a quality hunting dog to an age-old tradition of quail hunting. It added excitement to a beautiful day of explosive quail and knowledgeable guides. The guides’ expertise of the land and their anecdotes made for many memories for all. THANK YOU for a great experience at Quail Country Plantation.

To Our New Friends,

We want to thank all of you for such a nice hunt/visit at Quail Country. The fact is that everyone seems to have their head into making all the guests feel very much at home. Secondly the dogs that were used on our hunts are as good as any we have ever seen. Please pass our thanks on to the guides, cooks, and everyone involved for such an outstanding job well done.

Sincerely,

Tom Langston

KENNELS

Dear Quail Country Plantation,

Lilly is the perfect dog from family pet to hunting dog. Lilly will retrieve ducks (yes ducks) in fields and in the water so I know she is going to be a great dove and quail dog. I did not have a chance to take her dove hunting this season but she will go quail hunting for the first time in March. She is kennel trained, whistle trained and I will start working on hand signals soon. I did not imagine she would pick things up faster than the Labs I have had in the past. Everyone that meets her falls in love and is amazed at how well mannered she is. Lilly is a bundle of energy yet she does not destroy the house or truck. You can tell she comes from a great bloodline as soon as you let her outside. Her nose goes to the ground and she starts working no matter where she is. That is something you cannot train it only comes naturally.

I recently purchased an English Spaniel from QCP. She is an awesome dog and addition to our family! I had a great experience with this facility from the date of purchase through shipping the puppy home. They were very professional and have the best program out there. I researched ten different facilities before deciding to purchase a puppy from them. Their reputation speaks for itself and I truly like the fact there are no restrictions regarding their puppies! The new owner can show, hunt or just have the puppy as a family addition, plus they give a one year guarantee on the puppies!

They have a trainer who works with the puppies from birth to the time when they go to their new homes. This is a great program! My little girl arrived and just slipped into our lives like she’d always been there! She’s met around 100 people and around 50 animals to date and there haven’t been any issues with any introduction! She is very well mannered and “tuned into” the other animal’s attitude (people too) and tones down her reaction to accommodate the other’s reaction to her. She senses when the other doesn’t want to be friends and waits until she can work her magic on them. I haven’t come across anyone that she hasn’t been able to befriend!

She is only four months old and already trailing. We’re working on ‘sit, stay, fetch and lie down’ commands. These are hard for her as she is extremely hyper but she is coming along grandly! She is an awesome baby girl!

Bozley follows us everywhere, rides in the car, goes to the office with us, plays fetch,  and pursues/retrieves a quail wing. He has not had an accident in his crate yet and sleeps through the night. He was played with, literally, by all of the neighborhood kids yesterday to the point that he crawled in his crate at 10 PM and looked at us like ‘shut the door’. He has the absolute coolest personality and someone has spent a lot of time with him.

Thanks for everything!

We are absolutely loving Birdie! She is such a sweet dog and has bonded well with our seven year-old daughter! She is adjusting well and even gets along with our cats!  We cannot thank Stewart enough for meeting us in Carrollton to get her.

Dr. Brooks,

Thank you so much for a great weekend.  Zach and I had a wonderful time staying with you and hunting your beautiful plantation.  The hospitality was top notch and the food and accommodations were excellent.  COMPETITIONS

Dear LeeAnn,

Thank you so much for all your help to make our ECVC FT flow smoothly – you all were so accommodating – even down to helping to make the silent auction tables appealing! Jimmie and Stewart are gems – at this event, particularly Jimmie was always on time, early in the a.m. to get birds and always very personable AND worked ALL day!  Stewart is also a wonderful gentleman and helped immensely – love them both!

We love QCP and we received lots of positive feedback from the participants! Thank you again for letting our little club hold our field event at your beautiful plantation.

You, your dad, Jimmie, Stewart and Roger epitomize “Southern Hospitality!”

Thank you all from the bottom of my heart,

Sue Towne, ECVC President and Event Chair
