Customers 16 and older must have either a valid Georgia hunting license or a valid Georgia shooting preserve license to hunt Quail Country Plantation. Before or after arrival, customers may purchase a preserve license through several channels: online at GoHuntGeorgia.com , onsite, or by telephone at 1-800-366-2661. As a preserve operator, we need evidence of the valid hunting license or a Temporary Authorization Number (TAN) for a hunting license given to the customer by the Georgia Call Center. As a licensed agent, customers can purchase a license during the initial reservation with us or once on site. We will issue a paper copy from the license book and give the customer the paper license to use as proof of the license while they are hunting on the preserve. All personal information, including a complete Social Security Number, must be completed on the license form so that DNR can check to confirm that the customer had a valid license while they were hunting on the preserve.
Your guide will meet you with your jeep at the Lodge prior to hunt time and will drive you to the first hunting area. You will dismount and walk with your guide and dogs. When the dogs point, you will load your guns and approach the pointed dogs. Your guide will send in a flushing dog to flush the birds. After shooting, you will unload your guns and the guide and dogs will retrieve the killed birds. You will continue this pattern until your guide takes you to another hunting area. The hunt will last for 3 hours and then the guide will return you to the lodge.
